The Best of Times

There is nothing in the world like family.

I think that my favorite moments happen in our living room as we all sit around holding new babies, listening to Andrew and Austin, and just being together. There is nothing like family.

To Cheer Us Up

It has been a busy week at the Bugg house!

My sister and I have been helping my dad update his blog on a daily basis - which I enjoy to no end! Dad, you are very clever and very good at updating daily! So, if you aren't finding enough updates on this site - make sure you visit my dad at www.bobbugg.blogspot.com.

We had a wonderful visit with my Uncle Chuck, Aunt Diane, and cousin, David. I have pictures to share with you soon that are on my camera! A visit with this "Bugg" side of the family always includes great food and even better conversation. We always sit around the living room listening to stories and laughing until we cry. This trip, however, also included a three-year-old and a four-year-old flying around the house on bicycles (yes, Grandma lets the boys ride their bikes in the house!) and two three month old baby girls! We are outgrowing my mom's living room!!!

My uncle has a new book on leadership hitting the shelves soon and my aunt never ceases to amaze me with her listening ear and kind heart. I am honored to be their niece. On Monday, as I picked the boys up from school, I explained to the boys that our company had to leave. "Oh, no!" Austin cried from the backseat. "That is the saddest thing I have heard all day!"

I agree, Austin!

So, to cheer us both up - here is a picture that I found while perusing my computer this afternoon that brought a huge smile to my face!

Precious Moments in Our Family

On Sunday, we celebrated a wonderful family day at the baptism of my sweet niece, Avery.

DSCN2812

My brother and his wife attend a Lutheran church close to their home and asked both sides of the family to join them on their important day. From the moment we entered the doors of the church, the people opened their arms to greet our family. From the music to the liturgy to the baptism service itself, the entire day was a precious time for our family to spend together.

Avery Grace is our "miracle girl," and we are honored to stand by her parents as they raise her. We desire to be a help, a constant source of support, anything you need at a moment's notice. In short, we desire to be what God created us to be ... family.

DSCN2797

Perhaps at no other time has my family understood what it means to support, to love, to stand by each other's side. What a precious time to welcome Avery to our family.

In other news, my dad has a blog! Can you believe it??? Well, actually, Jenny and I convinced him that he needed a blog during this time of his life. He is recording his journey to cancer at

"A Cheerful Heart is Good Medicine"

Please click on the link above and leave my dad a comment. I know that your words are so encouraging to him during this time. He is so deeply loved by all of his family!

The Wardrobes

I ran by CVS this morning to have some pictures developed. About an hour later my sister went to pick them up. "Oh, I have been waiting for you!" the photo assistant cheerfully said when she saw my sister. "Your last name is Q___, right?" My sister just stared at her. She was so pleased with herself for having remembered my face. "you have a great memory," my sister said. "But that was actually my sister you met earlier today.

Such is the life of being 18 months apart from your big sister.

Yesterday, we had a precious day celebrating the baptism of my niece, Avery. I had my outfit not only picked out - but on my body. A cute little dress I bought several months ago. As I walked out the door, I yelled to my parents, "give me one minute, my dress feels a little short. I am going to throw on pants." As I saw my sister walk into the church an hour later I shook my head in disbelief. It was a good thing I changed, for in walked my sister in the exact same dress I had on only an hour earlier. We would have looked like 32 year old twins. Awesome.

Such is the life of being 18 months younger than your big sister.

Jenny and I also share a photo account right now. It just makes sense for us because our children are normally together and the pictures reflect them all. Imagine my delight when I opened my photo account online this morning and found...

and this

and this...

Please, dear Lord, if I have another child, let it be a girl. After all, someone needs to inherit this precious girl's wardrobe.

I think it is only fitting for me to be the recipient. There are some benefits to being only 18 months younger than your big sister.
